David Mukomana
David Mukomana is a Zimbabwean with more than 25 years of working experience as an SAP Financials Consultant. He holds a Bachelors of Accountancy (Honours) Degree from the University of Zimbabwe and an Associate of Institute of Administration and Commerce (IAC).
David is the founder and Managing Director of Organo Seven (Pvt) Limited, an Agro-processing company specialising in honey processing, beekeeping and honey processing equipment supplies and beekeeping training and consultancy in Zimbabwe and the SADC region.
His passion in community development saw him elected Apimondia Regional Commission for Africa President in 2017, a position he was recently re-elected for a second term. David has put up regional structures that are seeing accelerated development in the apiculture sector on the African continent. He is currently working creating partnerships with development agents and institutions of higher learning to support the beekeeping sector with research work needed to unpack the intrinsic value of African honeys as well as documentation of African Beekeeping Systems. His vision is to see this decade as “The Decade of African Apiculture” and ensuring that apiculture contributes significantly in achieving Africa’s vision 2063 – The Africa We Want.
To that end, David has been actively involved in the organisation of the 3rd Apimondia Africa Regional Symposium where stakeholders across the continent will have an opportunity to share their experiences, interact with scientists, equipment providers and potential honey buyers with the mind of developing African apiculture sector.
