Etienne Bruneau is an agricultural engineer and former manager of the Belgian beekeeping centre Cari asbl. 

He is currently President of the Scientific Commission on Technology and Quality of Apimondia and Vice-President of the “Honey” working group of COPA COGECA (the beekeeping section of the European trade union of agricultural associations and cooperatives in the EU). He represents Belgium in ISO meetings on hive products. 

He has dedicated his career to bees and has worked in fields as diverse as pathology, pollination, quality and valorisation of hive products, honey market, sustainability of beekeeping and has focused his efforts in recent years on better understanding the impact that global warming may have on beekeeping and on studying the responses that beekeepers can give.
